Quality
First from AAHSA
Brewster Place was among the first
retirement communities in the nation to sign the Quality First covenant.
Quality First is a philosophy of quality and a framework for earning public
trust in aging services. It is a renewal of our commitment to help older
adults and their loved ones live their lives to their fullest potential.
Quality First is about raising the consciousness of all the
stakeholders...government, consumers, the people we serve and their
families.
Kansas Association of Homes and Services for the Aging
Founded in 1954, the Kansas Association
of Homes and Services for the Aging represents 160 not-for-profit nursing
homes, retirement communities, hospital long-term care units, assisted
living facilities, senior housing and community based service providers
throughout the state.
Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging
JAAA advocates on aging issues, builds
community partnerships and implements programs within Shawnee, Jefferson and
Douglas counties to help seniors live independent and dignified lives.
Kansas
Department on Aging
The Kansas Department on Aging uses
public and private resources to improve the security, dignity, and
independence of Kansas seniors, their families, seniors' caregivers, and all
Kansans living in adult care homes.
The Eden Alternative
Brewster Place is a certified Eden
Alternative site. The core concept of The Eden Alternative is strikingly
simple. We must teach ourselves to see the environments as habitats for
human beings rather than facilities for the frail and elderly. We must learn
what Mother Nature has to teach us about the creation of vibrant, vigorous
habitats. The Eden Alternative shows us how companion animals, the
opportunity to give meaningful care to other living creatures, and the
variety and spontaneity that mark an enlivened environment can succeed where
pills and therapies fail.
United Church of Christ
Brewster Place was founded in 1964 by the
four United Church of Christ churches in Topeka.
The Topeka Capital-Journal
Topeka's hometown newspaper.
Washburn University
Topeka's hometown university, at Washburn
Learning For a Lifetime is more than a motto...it's call to action.
Since 1865, the University has lived up to that call through educational
excellence.
Midland Hospice of Topeka
Topeka's only not-for-profit hospice.
Midland's mission is to enhance the end-of-life journey by offering
patients/clients and their families, and the communities we serve, programs
that provide care, respect, education and hope.
